Overview
El Plantío Golf is a 27-hole golf facility near Alicante. The complex includes an 18-hole, par-72 course and a separate nine-hole, par-three course.
Manuel Ferry Ruiz designed the main course. The layout runs through an established natural setting with extensive vegetation, wide fairways, large greens, bunkers and water hazards.
Course Details
The 18-hole course has four par threes, ten par fours and four par fives. Different tee positions provide suitable playing distances for a range of handicaps.
Trees, bunkers and water influence shot selection throughout the round. The fairways provide space from the tee, while accurate approaches become important around the large greens.
The separate nine-hole, par-three course provides a shorter round for beginners, families and golfers working on their short game.
Course Highlights
El Plantío Golf provides two different playing options within one complex. Golfers choose between a full par-72 round and a shorter nine-hole course consisting entirely of par threes.
The main course combines open fairways with established vegetation, water hazards and bunkers. Each hole occupies a different section of the landscaped grounds, creating variation throughout the round.
The absence of housing around the fairways helps preserve the course’s natural setting.
Practice Facilities
El Plantío Golf has a driving range measuring 350 metres long and more than 100 metres wide. The range has 50 hitting bays and supports practice with drivers from natural grass.
Personal fitting services are available for golfers seeking help with their equipment.
Two 18-hole putting areas provide more than 700 square metres of practice space. A separate chipping area supports short-game preparation.
The complex also has a dedicated practice area for golf-school students. Individual and group lessons are available.
Clubhouse & Facilities
The clubhouse restaurant serves snacks, sandwiches and a selection of prepared dishes. Golfers also have access to cafeterias and outdoor terraces within El Plantío Golf Resort.
The pro shop stocks golf equipment, clothing and accessories. Golf clubs, manual trolleys, electric trolleys and buggies are available for hire.
Further golf facilities include changing rooms and equipment storage. The wider resort provides tourist apartments, outdoor swimming pools, a gym and parking.
Location
El Plantío Golf is on the Antigua Alicante-Elche road, three kilometres south of Alicante.
Alicante-Elche Airport is approximately 10 minutes away by road. Central Alicante is around 15 minutes from the course, depending on traffic.
Its position between Alicante and the airport provides straightforward access for golfers staying in the city or travelling through Alicante-Elche Airport.
